In recent news, Lauren Jauregui has confirmed that she will be dropping her debut album sometime in the current year.
The former star from Fifth Harmony stated that this will be her debut solo LP and the first since her split with the band.
The singer announced the year on X when replying to a tweet from a fan instead of making an official announcement about the release date.
The exciting update about the album comes shortly after Lauren spoke out about how much she has grown in her solo journey.
In her words, her solo material is personal, reflective, and introspective of her experiences in life.
According to the 27-year-old, she is impressed by women who are able to express themselves and their experiences in songs and hopes to do the same.
She added that such artists who are not afraid to put their feelings into songs have shaped the way she writes songs.
The star went on to name a couple of incredible artists she is impressed with, saying that she hopes to be as good as they are.
These included Mariah Carey, Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys, Hayley Williams, John Mayer, PINK!, Jhene Aiko, Kehlani, Lana Del Rey, SZA, and Summer Walker.
Lauren disclosed that the singer she is most inspired by is Beyonce. This is mainly because the music icon is a magician when it comes to executing background vocals.
She also praised Beyonce for successfully communicating her entire vision when she was on stage and easily captivating numerous people.
The 27-year-old spoke about additional women who can express their feelings in songs.
In her words, she appreciates the work done by Whitney Houston, Billie Holiday, Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, and Aretha Franklin, to name a few.
The musician hit it big as a teenager when she became a part of the all-girl group Fifth Harmony.
While she was still young at the time, Lauren believes that she has matured over the last couple of years.
She recently reflected on her music journey, saying that she has put out two EPs, along with four singles, in the time that she has begun her solo career.
In her words, she has also had several beautiful and successful collaborations with a couple of her friends, such as Snow Tha Product and Halsey.
According to the 27-year-old, she is slowly becoming more and more comfortable with expressing herself.
She added that since practice makes perfect, she has been working on writing daily.
Lauren recalled that she has been writing in a song format for a while now and is happy with the way she can express herself through her music readily.
In her words, being able to tell people how she feels has been the biggest growth arc for her throughout her journey.
The singer revealed that she has been spending a lot more time in the studio, working on new songs.
She further added that some of the songs that she is working on were written in 2018 or 2019, so she has seen significant growth in herself since then.
