In recent news, Olivia Rodrigo has opened up about how much pressure she felt when she was working on her second album.

The 20-year-old singer recently released GUTS, which was a follow-up album to her debut record, titled SOUR.

The tracks were put out in September, and now the star has discussed how she felt under pressure when creating the album.

In her words, she often worried about how the new songs would be received and whether fans would love them.

The singer was invited to speak at the Hitmaker’s Brunch hosted by Variety, where she was given the award for the Storyteller Of The Year.

During her appearance, Olivia revealed that she has not effortlessly achieved success; she has had to undergo self-doubt because of it.

She went on to add that she often had a number of voices in her head that made her doubt whether anyone would love her songs.

However, the star disclosed that showing up to create songs every day brought her out of her self-doubt.

She added how there were days when she did not feel particularly inspired but continued to prove to herself that she could make it.

According to the 20-year-old, she is a firm believer in the magic of creativity and that kept her going more often than not.

She revealed that she has found ways to discipline her writing as well to ensure that she does not miss out on wonderful ideas.

Consequently, the star has forced herself to write songs every single day, at least for an hour, to make sure that she does not spiral into overthinking.

In her words, writing songs is another way for her to tell stories to other people and is part of the thrill that comes with being in the music industry.

The hitmaker believes that despite feeling the pressure, she felt that the fans’ reaction to it was worth it in the end.

Olivia received her award which was specially presented to her by St. Vincent. At the event, the singer was also praised for her hard work.

The speech about the musician applauded her effort to realize the contradictions within herself and make a change to fight it.

Her honest songs were appreciated at the event as well, which have been liberating for numerous young people who are struggling through the same experiences.

In other news, Perrie Edwards has revealed that she is working on a debut solo album in collaboration with Ed Sheeran.

The Little Mix singer went on to talk about how she has been discussing numerous ideas with Ed and hopes to share a song with him as well for her debut record.

Consequently, she has turned to a singer that she respects and appreciates and is hoping to have the chance to sing with him.

The 30-year-old is currently signed to Columbia Records and has taken to express the joy she feels when she is able to focus on her music without feeling any pressure from the label.
