Britney Spears's father, Jamie Spears, has reportedly had his leg amputated after weeks in hospital.
It has been recently revealed that Britney Spears’s father, Jamie Spears, had to undergo painful surgery.
He had been hospitalized for the last couple of weeks due to a large infection that showed up in one of his legs.
The star’s father had to go through various surgeries to contain the infection, but all of them ended up being unsuccessful.
In the end, the doctors suggested that Jamie get his leg amputated to save himself from the misery of an infected leg.
Consequently, the 71-year-old accepted but has not since been doing well after his operation that took place almost a month ago.
It is no secret that Britney has had a difficult relationship with her father for the past couple of years, which worsened when he was named her conservator back in 2008.
The matter was shortly taken to court by the musician, who did not want her father controlling her or her estate anymore.
As a result, the popstar emerged victorious, and Jamie was publicly removed from the position of her conservator in September of 2021.
During that time, the 42-year-old had publicly accused her father of mistreatment and abuse, which is what led to the conservatorship being terminated two months after the accusations were made.
As of now, the daughter and father are still engaged in ongoing legal battles with respect to the arrangement.
Where the rest of her family is concerned, Britney is building bridges with the people that she was previously estranged from.
She had a reunion with Lynne Spears, her mother, in Los Angeles over the past weekend when she celebrated her 42nd birthday.
Her brother, Bryan Spears, was also there to celebrate his sister’s birthday with her.
However, Jamie Lynn was nowhere to be seen during the party. It was later revealed by sources that she could not attend but was invited.
Just a couple of days ago, the Toxic hitmaker took to Instagram to tell her followers how blessed she felt to have reconnected with the members of her family.
She went on to add that it was a pleasant feeling to be embraced by her family and that it felt nice to know that there were people that she could trust.

The celebration took place at the Royal Albert Hall, which is located in London, to support the avant-garde style of designers in the UK and show them some support.
The 31-year-old arrived on the red carpet wearing a custom blazer designed by Vivienne Westwood and a miniskirt to go with it.
They perfected the look with platform heels but later changed into a black taffeta gown when accepting the award.
At the event, they were also invited to perform a song and they followed through with HIM.
