Claudette Dion Opens Up About Celine Dion’s Health

In recent news, Claudette Dion has opened up about her sister, Celine Dion’s health, saying that she has no control over her muscles.

The 75-year-old was asked to share an update on the health of her sister, who is currently struggling with a rare neurological disorder.

Celina was diagnosed with Stiff-Person Syndrome and has been away from social media for quite some time now.

According to Claudette, her sister has been working hard through physical therapy but often struggles since she does not have any control over her muscles.

Moreover, the 75-year-old added that it is heartbreaking to see her sister struggling since she has always been a disciplined person.

She divulged that their mother brought them up to be disciplined and would always tell them that if they were going to do something, they should do it properly.

Thus, she revealed that Celine is still hoping to recover so that she can return to the stage but is unsure in what capacity she will be to do so.

Stiff-Person Syndrome is an incurable and progressive condition that has a severe impact on an individual’s mobility.

Claudette explained that the heart and vocal cords both have muscles, which scares her the most.

She added how her sister being affected is a 1 out of a million cases and has been the same for other people.

Consequently, Scientists have not done much research on the condition and do not have a cure for it.

Claudette, who is also a singer, noticed that the 55-year-old has been receiving a huge amount of love and support ever since she announced her diagnosis back in December 2022.

The 75-year-old talked about how most people have now lost hope since the illness is not well-known and, thus, does not have a cure.

However, she added that Foundation Maman Dion receives numerous calls on a daily basis from people telling them that they love the singer and are praying for her.

She further expressed gratitude to people for showing their love and support, as well as for sending her presents.

The My Heart Will Go On hitmaker was forced to cancel her world tour shortly after she was given the diagnosis.

She made her first appearance in public three and half years later when she attended a hockey game in November in Las Vegas.

In other news, Carey Mulligan has revealed that her husband was not boyfriend material to her when they first met as children at a camp.

The British actress recalled that she had become pen pals and friends with the singer from Mumford & Sons after they met at camp when he was 10 years old and she was 12.

She went on to add that she used to write in her diary back then and gave him high praise.

However, she concluded that the two of them would not be able to work as romantic partners.

The 38-year-old and the 36-year-old used to be pen pals for a couple of years until they lost touch. They connected once again on Facebook in their teens to finally meeting as adults later in life.
