In recent news, Ed Sheeran has been revealed to be the first artist from Britain who has received the special edition of the BRIT Award.
The Gold BRIT Billion Award was granted to the singer by the BPI, which is the representative voice for the world-leading music companies and record labels in the UK.
With the honor of being awarded the Gold BRIT Billion, Ed has managed to achieve a landmark milestone.
He has now become the first British artist to cross more than 10 billion streams in the entirety of his career in the UK. This was calculated by the Official Charts Company.
More than one billion of Ed’s 10 billion-plus streams came in the last 12 months alone.
The musician was presented with the Award by presenter, actor, and fellow musician, Jordan Stephens.
The presenter is mainly well-known for being the host of the BRITs Red Carpet Treatment Podcast and one half of Rizzle Kicks.
There is no doubt about the fact that the 32-year-old is one of the most loved voices in the UK.
Moreover, he has made history on the Official Charts a couple of times and has broken multiple records.
One of these records is being the first artist to boast four albums in the Official Albums Chart Top 10 for an entire year.
He has also bagged the achievement of being the first-ever British solo artist to lay claim to a whole year at the top throughout his catalog on the Official Singles Chart.
Furthermore, the star also boasts an untarnished streak of having six albums at the top in the UK, no less than seven BRIT awards, as well as 14 UK No.1 singles.
The singer recently broke a ticket record, too, when he played his Mathematics tour for around 81,000 fans in a concert that was held in the SoFi Stadium located in Los Angeles.
As of now, Ed is the holder of three of the 10 most streamed songs, which include Shape of You at Number 2, Perfect at Number 3, and Bad Habits in the ninth position.
The musician also released his most recent album, Autumn Variations, on the 29th of September, which is the second album he has dropped in the current year.
The first album the star dropped was ‘-‘, which went on to become a chart-topping success itself, back when it was released in May.
In other news, Demi Lovato has revealed that she will be putting out a holiday special.
As per the 31-year-old star, she joined hands with Roku, a popular streaming service, which has been working on A Very Demi Holiday Special.
Consequently, she will be performing festive classics on the occasion, which include Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, along with Jingle Bell Rock.
In addition, the popstar is prepared to perform a couple of her songs as well, which include those from her most recent album and some of her biggest hits.
It has also been revealed that a surprise special guest will be accompanying the Heart Attack hitmaker to perform a top-secret duet.
