Olivia Rodrigo’s Vampire Takes Flight

Just recently, Olivia Rodrigo has climbed the charts and secured the UK Number 1 Single position for the third time in her career.

The song that helped the star go all the way up there for the third time is Vampire, which had previously stood at Number 2 for an entire month.

At the time, Sprinter, by Dave & Central Cee, was breaking records and holding the Number 1 position.

But now, Vampire has secured a place for itself at the top of the Official Singles Chart, much to the star’s joy.

Vampire is a part of the trilogy that has allowed Olivia to secure three of her songs at the UK Number 1 position.

The US songwriter and singer previously held the top position with Good 4 U and Drivers License, which climbed to the top back in 2021.

Vampire securing the Number 1 Singles position entails that the midweek leader, namely Doja Cat, has missed out on jumping to the top.

However, she landed at Number 2 with her song, Paint The Town Red, which matches Say So, a track she released back in 2020.

Disconnect by Chase & Status and Becky Hill also landed on the list of the Official Singles Chart, along with Desire by Sam Smith and Calvin Klein.

In a shocking turn of events, Cassö’s Prada, a rising producer, also ended up in the Top 10. His remix of Ferrari Horses by RAYE and D-Block Europe certainly stole the hearts of many.

Meanwhile, a new entry at Number 12 on the Official Singles Chart is Used To Be Young by Miley Cyrus.

Moreover, Burna Boy has secured two entries on the list with the release of its album, I Told Them. The recently released record secured the top position as the Number 1 album.

In other news, BMI revealed that Gary Kemp, who belongs to the Spandau Ballet, will now be named an icon at the 2023 BMI London Awards.

The award show is scheduled to be held on the 2nd of October at the well-known Savoy Hotel.

Not only is he a renowned actor, but he is also an accomplished singer and songwriter and will be granted this honor for this illustrious career.

With this award, BMI hopes to reward Gary for his enduring contributions to the music industry, which have inspired and motivated legions of music creators and fans around the globe.

In addition, the acclaimed producer, Richard P2J Isong will be given the Impact Award by the organization to reward his creative vision, ground-breaking artistry, and his influence on the future of music.

This is the first time in BMI history that a producer is going to be given their award. The private event will be hosted by Mike O’Neill, the President and CEO of BMI.

According to Mike, the organization is happy to be paying tribute to legends like Gary and Richard and welcome them into the family.

He went on to praise the timeless songs released by the songwriter, which have left lasting impressions on more than one generation.
