Just recently, Olivia Rodrigo has been listed as one of the performers to take the stage at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, also known as the VMAs.
The 20-year-old singer has been nominated for five of her songs and is posed to give a performance at the upcoming show.
It will take place on the 12th of September at the Prudential Center located in Newark, New Jersey.
The char-topping musician was invited to perform at the 2021 VMAs, where she sang her popular single, named Good 4 U.
For the year 2023, the star has received various nominations, such as Video of the Year, Best Pop, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, and Song of the Year, all on account of her new single, Vampire.
The track is a part of the star’s new album, called Guts, which she has been busily promoting over the last couple of weeks.
Olivia previously claimed that she sometimes thinks about how much she has grown ever since the release of her debut album, which featured Good 4 U.
Sour was released back in May 2021, after which the musician believes she has become a more confident and experienced person.
According to the 20-year-old, it was pretty challenging for her to put herself out in the world and expose her work to people like that.
However, she is now grateful that she took a leap of faith and gave people the chance to see what she could do. She further added that it has made her love herself.
Moreover, the star still thinks of herself as a hopeless romantic, as she did when she entered the industry back in 2021.
Olivia went on to add that she had a different outlook on love when she wrote Sour, as opposed to now.
In her words, heartbreak can change things and give you a different perspective. She recalled how she felt a little disillusioned by the concept of relationships for a while.
On the other hand, she feels grateful that she experienced heartbreak because it gave her the confidence to write something new.

Recently, the Smile singer posted a picture on Instagram, which showed her laughing with her husband, to celebrate three years of marriage to the Stranger Things actor.
The pair can be seen looking as happy as ever in the snap on a street in Las Vegas, shortly after they tied the knot on 7th September 2020 at the Graceland Wedding Chapel.
In the caption, she joked that marrying David was the second-best decision she made, with the first being the dress she picked for the wedding.
Soon after, a troll took to the comment section to ask the British star if she would marry a guy who did not have any money.
The 38-year-old responded without wasting any time at all, recalling how she had already done that back in 2011, but it did not work out.
