In recent news, Paramore has sadly announced that it will be canceling the leftover shows of the North American leg of its tour. The reason behind this cancellation was revealed to be illness.
Hayley Williams, the frontwoman of the band, has been playing all the previous shows that were held this year, with a lung infection. However, it has now pushed through and made it difficult for her to perform.
As per the announcement from the group, it is going to prioritize the health of its primary singer, as it was doing previously when it decided to postpone no less than four shows.
It was revealed that they were forced to postpone those four concerts at the last moment, because Hayley’s body gave out, even though she tried to battle her way through it.
On the other hand, the 34-year-old continued to perform earlier this week at the two rescheduled concerts held in Seattle and San Francisco.
After the performances, sources said that Hayley’s health became a little scary, and Paramore decided to pull the plug on its performances before things got worse.
Thus, the band canceled its concerts to be held at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum and the Delta Center in Portland and Salt Lake City, respectively.
The frontwoman took to her Instagram Stories to talk about what happened and said that she had just gotten off stage in Seattle to bad news.
In her words, her team and doctor had revealed to her that if she continues to perform anymore, it will come at a huge cost to her health.
According to the 34-year-old, her lungs are not healing quickly enough to allow her room to perform. It was especially difficult for her to keep up when singing in Seattle.
Hayley went on to say that Paramore will be posting an official statement as soon as possible, but that the band has decided to cancel the remaining two shows of the tour to give her time to heal.
She expressed disappointment at not being able to perform for her fans and apologized because she knew how excited they all were.
Hayley thanked some dedicated fans for camping outside the venue in Portland because they want to be one of the first ones inside.
The singer issued an official apology as well, going on to thank her fans for the love and support that they have been showing her.
At the same time, the 34-year-old also clapped back at a couple of haters, whom she referred to as ‘internet bros’. These users had taken to criticize the singer for postponing shows and then canceling them altogether.
One user called her the C word and said that if Dave Grohl, the 54-year-old frontman of Foo Fighters, can break his leg and continue to perform, Hayley should be able to do the same.
The frontwoman reacted to the post and revealed that she has a lung infection, which makes it difficult for her to perform.
She clarified that while a broken limb allows a singer to continue for two hours, a wounded lung cannot do the same.
