Billy Porter Has Reservations About Harry Styles Being On The Cover Of Vogue

In recent news, Billy Porter has revealed that he does not feel good about the fact that Harry Styles has been chosen to be the first male star to be on the cover of Vogue.

In the words of the 53-year-old singer/actor, the One Direction star, who appeared on the cover of Vogue, back in December of 2020, looks out of place.

In a recent interview, he said that the 29-year-old should not be chosen to be on the cover of such a prestigious magazine, especially since Vogue was aiming to make a mark on the world by changing its gender norms.

Billy recalled how he had been doing an interview session with the magazine a couple of months before it featured Harry.

He revealed that Anna Wintour, the editor, had asked him how Vogue could improve itself, and he had not said anything.

Later on, however, Billy said that he wished he had asked them to uplift the voices of those leaders who are de-gendering the fashion movement.

Just six months after the actor’s interview with the Vogue editor, Harry Styles was revealed to be the first man on the magazine’s cover.

The Pose star talked about how he wished the 29-year-old well and sent him flowers, despite initially blasting the new front page of Vogue.

In his words, he does not blame the hitmaker of As It Was, who is well-known in the industry, for his unique, androgynous, and bold style.

According to the 53-year-old, Harry is not at fault for being cute, straight, white, and molded into the infrastructure of the industry in that manner. He expressed that all he wanted to do was call out the gatekeepers.

The actor further acknowledged that the former One Direction star is one of the men in the industry to push boundaries where stereotypes are concerned, but he is not the only one.

Billy spoke out about there are numerous men in Hollywood, such as David Bowie, who have stepped out of their comfort zone and made it possible for men to express themselves.

In the 53-year-old’s opinion, the only reason Harry is on the cover is because he is non-binary, straight, and white. However, the singer does not have a good feeling about it.

Billy believes that the people in his community are being used to elevate the hitmaker of Sign Of Times.

In other news, the Good Vibes Festival in Malaysia is suing the 1975 and seeking more than $2 million in damages.

This is because the frontman of the band, Matty Healy, took to breaking the anti-LGBTQ laws of the country and protesting them during a performance.

During the concert, he kissed his male bandmate and the 1975’S bassist, Ross MacDonald, which led to the authorities canceling the entire event.

Consequently, the band is now being pursued for damages because it breached its contract.

As per the attorney who represents Future Sound Asia, David Matthew, in 1975 signed a binding contract to hold a performance, but it was breached when the singer chose to protest the laws of the country.
