Lewis Capaldi Says He Is Ready To Quit Music To Protect His Mental Health

In a shocking turn of events, Lewis Capaldi has revealed that he is ready to give up on music in order to protect his mental health.

Just recently, the 26-year-old singer has opened up about how his fame has caused adverse effects on his mental health.

Thus, he is ready to give up on making music and walk away. He believes that this would be the best way for him to take care of himself.

The star appeared for a session at Apple Music and talked to Rebecca Judd about how his new album is related to his deteriorating mental health. He admitted that it has only gotten worse over time.

Recalling his downward spiral in 2020, the musician said that he had been grateful for the lockdown. This was because he had been on his first arena tour at the time in the UK and was regularly having panic attacks.

What made the situation worse was that shortly before touring the UK, he had been consistently performing in Asia and Australia. Consequently, his shy self did not like being put in the spotlight on stage.

Despite the fact that Lewis is doing better now, he says that he is not all the way there to be better. He further added that he loves music, and it distresses him to think that the thing he loves causes so many issues.

As per the 26-year-old, this turn of events is interesting, but he has accepted that he may have to step away from the spotlight for the sake of his mental health.

The singer said that if he was to start recording a new album again, his head would become scrambled, and he would feel horrible.

On the other hand, he is doing better at the moment and is in a situation where he can manage his mental health.

In his words, the trade-off between fame and his mental well-being is not worth it. But Lewis also made it clear that he is not stepping down right away.

According to the musician, he can deal with his Tourette’s and take a few panic attacks right now, but if it turns out even worse than before, then he will drop out of making music completely.

The star also confided that this move would be a painful one for him and break his heart, especially since he enjoys performing for his fans.

Lewis further recalled the reason he decided to delve into music in the first place was to be able to perform live. He had struggled with stage fright for a long time and wanted to overcome it.

After several tries, he was able to pull himself up and gain the confidence to perform in front of crowds. However, if he starts to struggle with it again, the singer has made it clear that he will quit music altogether.

The 26-year-old said that the time will come for him to finally pack it in if standing on stage causes him stress or makes him hate the idea of doing it.
