Bonnie Raitt Decides To Delay Concerts As She Undergoes Surgery

In recent news, Bonnie Raitt has had to postpone several of her concerts so that she can take a break. This time off will allow her to undergo necessary surgery for an undisclosed medical situation.

Just yesterday, a representative of the Something To Talk About’s singer posted a statement on her social media, announcing that she will not be going through with any of the upcoming performances. The announcement also said that her appearance on the 14th of May at the Mothership Weekend of Brandi Carlile had been canceled.

It was further revealed that shows scheduled for Indianapolis, Indiana, and Louisville, Kentucky have been pushed to later dates in the year. Moreover, the gigs set for Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Athens, Georgia, have been shifted to next year.

According to the social media post made by the representative, Bonnie is experiencing a medical situation that requires her to undergo mandatory surgery. It revealed that doctors have recommended that she take a break from performing in order to fully and healthily recover.

The post went on to say that the surgery and recovery period will clash with at least five dates of her current tour in the month of May. The representative went on to apologize on the star’s behalf, saying that she was regretful for disappointing her fans but will be back soon.

Despite the fact that no additional details were provided in the social media post, the spokesperson has insisted that the 73-year-old is looking forward to performing at her show scheduled for the 1st of June, in Dublin, Ireland.

The representative continued apologizing for the inconvenience and delay and acknowledged that fans, promoters, band, and crew must all be disappointed. However, they added that unforeseen circumstances can often take place, but that Bonnie is on the road to making her return soon. They also added that the singer would want her privacy to be respected in this difficult time.

In other news, Sir Elton John has opened up about how he is not going to take a break from the spotlight even when he retires.

The 76-year-old musical legend has, however, confirmed that he will not be touring again. His current Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour is his last, but Sir Elton John is positive that he will continue taking the stage. In the singer’s words, he is not yet prepared to leave the stage, even when his current marathon tour comes to an end on the 8th of July in Stockholm.

According to Sir Elton John, the reason he does not want to go on tour is because it exhausts him and takes him away from his children and loved ones. However, he hinted that he would be open to doing an occasional odd show that granted him the freedom to schedule a performance at his convenience. The Rocketman hitmaker has also stood firm on the fact that he will not be going on tours that deprive him of spending time with David Furnish, his husband, and two sons, Elijah, 10, and Zachary, 12.
