In recent news, Selena Gomez has taken to the internet to slam the negative comments she has been seeing as of late. According to the singer, these comments are ‘disgusting’ and ‘vile’.
The reason behind Selena’s outburst was the response of people online, shortly after Hailey Bieber gave her bombshell interview. In a candid appearance on the podcast named, Call Her Daddy, the model took to talking about her relationship with Justin Bieber.
In the words of Hailey Bieber, she was never involved in a romantic relationship with the singer who is now her husband, while he was dating Selena Gomez. The latter had been Justin’s girlfriend on and off for at least 8 years.
Shortly after the podcast, Hailey came under fire from ‘Jelena’ and Selena fans online, with people calling her a homewrecker and other names. As a result, Selena decided to speak out against the hate circulating online by taking to TikTok.
Though the singer did not explicitly mention the interview or Hailey, she slammed the comments being made on various platforms. She went on to add that it is not fair to make remarks about someone like this and no one should be spoken to in the matter that she has seen.
According to Selena, she does not need to be involved in such matters. She further referenced Rare Beauty, her make-up brand, and the Kind Words lip liners and lipsticks that are part of the beauty line.
The popstar believes that it is ironic that her beauty products are about kind words, but her fans are saying things that are quite mean. She went on to say that if people support Rare, then they also need to stand by what it means.
Justin and Selena broke off their relationship for good back in March of 2018. Shortly after, the former revealed that he was getting engaged to Hailey, whom he had dated for a brief period of time in 2015 and 2016.
In her interview, Hailey talked about how she continues to receive hate from Jelena and Selena fans, despite the fact that she and the singer have no drama. The model also revealed that ever since she tied the knot with Justin, she has spoken to Selena, with whom she has no drama.
Hailey was also questioned by Alex Cooper about whether or not Selena has ever made an attempt to encourage her fans to stop bullying the model. The host also inquired if Justin or anyone else from the team had thought about talking to the singer about it.
In response to his question, the Rhode founder said that Selena is aware of the fact that this will not change anything. Rather, it may end up making things worse.
Hailey further added that the hitmaker does not owe her or anyone else anything besides respect. According to her, she has a lot of respect for Selena, but no expectations. The model made it clear that there is no drama between her and the popstar, other than that imagined by people online.
