In recent news, Kanye West revealed that he is open to the possibility of running for the position of U.S. President again.
Back in July of 2020, the popstar made an announcement saying that he was planning on running in the upcoming presidential election in the US. On election day that November, the vote count revealed that Kanye had received more than 70,000 votes. However, he lost to the current president, Joe Biden.
An interview that was aired just recently on Good Morning America further revealed that the Stronger rapper is still thinking about pursuing a career in politics. He added that he has absolute plans to run again. In his words, he lost the last election because it was not in ‘God’s time’.
As the discussion progressed, Kanye further opened up about his decision that led to the end of the fashion collaboration between Gap and Yeezy. He also discussed the ongoing tensions between Adidas executives and himself with respect to their lucrative partnership.
According to Kanye, he did not appreciate the voice that was being taken by Adidas and Gap over the product that he helped create. The 45-year-old asserted that he had been there for a particular agenda during the creation of these products. He added that he was not there to help Yeezy Gap become something more. Rather, he is thinking about making his own thing.
Furthermore, Kanye highlighted the many issues he has been facing in the fashion world and revealed that he took to hiring lawyers. He believes that they may be able to educate him about how to run the business effectively.
The hitmaker went on to add that it is time for him to level up and show everyone who the boss is. According to him, he is his own boss and will no longer be following the orders given to him by others. He is ready to do his own thing but first wants to learn financial engineering and how to run a company.
In other news, Kanye has also issued a public apology to his former wife, Kim Kardashian, for causing her any kind of stress. He expressed remorse, saying that he is regretful for the way he treated her while their divorce proceedings were going on.
In the rapper’s words, she is the mother of his children, and he respects her.
The pair got married in the year 2014 and were declared to be legally single in March of 2022. As of now, they are co-parenting their four children together, namely North, who is nine years old, Saint, aged six, Chicago, aged four, and three-year-old son, Psalm.
Soon after the power couple broke up, the hip-hop star often went on repeated rants on various social media platforms, such as Instagram. Here he would talk about the reality TV personality and her ongoing relationship with Pete Davidson, the comedian.
In his interview on Good Morning America, the rapper also discussed fatherhood, the plans he has to expand Donda Academy, and of course, his fashion empire.
