Judge Denies Expedited Hearing For Britney Spears’s Trial

In recent news, a judge from the Los Angeles Supreme Court has denied allowing Britney Spears to have an expedited hearing, in order to get her father removed as her conservator.

Judge Brenda Penny, who previously listened to Britney’s testimony of her conservatorship, has rejected the petition sent in by the singer’s new lawyer. Mathew Rosengart had requested that the next hearing of the conservatorship trial be brought up to the month of August from late September.

The arguments put forth by Rosengart entailed that the star wants to remove her father, Jamie Spears, as the conservator of her estate, as soon as possible. He stated that she does not want him to control her money any longer. The attorney went on to accuse the father of dissipating his daughter’s multi-million-dollar fortune, as well as exercising microscopic control over her life.

Rosengart further asserted that conservatorship should be viewed as a last resort and should benefit the conservatee. According to him, Jamie Spears was using it as a mechanism to benefit himself and his co-conservators.

In the filing, the attorney claimed that the father of the 39-year-old pop star had been ‘enriched’ because of the fact that he abused her estate. In his words, Jamie Spears had reaped millions of dollars from the performances that Britney gave.

While talking specific numbers, Rosengart alleged that Jamie had been paying himself a monthly fee of $16,000, which was $2,000 more than the figure he had allotted to his daughter, in addition to $2,000 every month for the purpose of office expenses. The lawyer also said that the father had prohibited the star from going on vacation in Hawaii.

Jodi Montgomery was recently made a temporary conservator of the star’s person, which is a role that keeps an eye on her wellbeing. Jamie has been clashing with Montgomery, time and time again. Just last week, he alleged that the temporary conservator had called him to insist that Britney was required to be placed under 5150 psychiatric hold, which is ‘involuntary commitment’ for those patients who may be a threat to themselves or other people.

Montgomery also gave a statement through his attorney in which he claimed that the father is the reason that the star’s mental health has deteriorated to this extent. He remarked that the fact that Jamie Spears is Britney’s conservator, rather than a neutral professional fiduciary, is causing her mental health to quickly get out of hand.

On the other hand, Jamie has continuously been claiming that his sole reason for staying on as his daughter’s conservator is to protect her because he has unconditional love for her.

The tense battle continues to rage on. The Gimme More hitmaker has revealed details of her conservatorship and acknowledged the Free Britney campaign. On Monday, she even posted a video of the campaign’s flag. In the caption, she hoped that she would be free from conservatorship one day and live her life on the edge.
