Cardi B in favor of Minnesota looters

Cardi B has declared that looters targeting multiple stores in the state of Minnesota have her full support. The looting started shortly after the death of George Floyd, an African-American citizen on Monday night.

The footage of the incident took the world by storm on Tuesday. It showed the 46-year-old unarmed and in handcuffs, pinned to the ground by a police officer. The man knelt on Floyd’s neck and cut off his breathing while trying to make an arrest. The victim later on died in the hospital. After watching the video, numerous people were outraged and called for the dismissal of the police offers involved. Their reaction forced the authorities to take action and the cops responsible were let go.

Cardi made it clear that she did not support the violence that resulted from the incident on the protester’s part. However, she did concede that police brutality is rampant in the U.S and it needs to end. The Bodak Yellow star wrote “it is what it is” as she stressed on this point.

She further added that there are too many peaceful marches in the world, and too many trending hashtags. But, they bear no fruit and people are forced to resort to taking the law into their own hands.

Cardi had previously discussed the incident shortly after it occurred by taking to social media. She insisted that enough was enough and things were getting out of hand. She questioned whether it would take a civil war, a different president, or violent riots to end this brutality. The superstar added that America was not the land of the free as it claimed where fear is planted in the hearts of the people by those in a position of authority. She insisted that it was only cowards who acted on the fear of the innocent.

Rapper Ice Cube also used a public forum to talk about Floyd’s death. He was very disturbed and frustrated by the incident along with many others. These included Ciara, Janelle Monae, and John Boyega.

The authorities in the state of Minnesota and FBI officials have taken to the incident. They are investigating the tragic event with complete support from the Governor of Minnesota, Tim Waltz. The governor announced that he will personally see to the fact that a proper inquiry would be carried out. According to him, they will get answers and justice will be served.
