Noah Cyrus Found it Absolutely Unbearable to Grow in Miley’s Shadow

Growing up in her sister, Miley Cyrus’s shadow, was ‘absolutely unbearable’ for Noah Cyrus. The 20-year-old singer introduced her new EP on Friday, which is called The End of Everything. The album included her new single titled ‘Young and Sad’. The tune had some lyrics referring to Noah’s sister, which sparked concern amongst some fans.

On Saturday, in an Instagram Live session, Noah decided to open up about the meaning of the lyrics in her song. While speaking to her fans, Noah struggled to control her emotions. She explained that being Miley’s younger sister was extremely difficult for her and she had a very hard time with it. She stated that she thought no one cared about her, especially after what people would say to her online.

Noah said that being in that position had been ‘absolutely unbearable’ and that’s what had prompted her to write the lyrics. She said the second verse explained that she had felt that no matter what she did, she would always remain in Miley’s shadow and everyone said the same to her. She had been constantly compared to Miley, which made her believe that she would never be able to get out of her sibling’s shadow.

It was very difficult for her to get over this thought because it was something that she had heard repeatedly, her entire life. She had always felt that she would never be enough, whether it was in regard to who she was or how she looked. She also said that sometimes she had felt that maybe she couldn’t even breathe right. Noah said that the song had been about how she had been made to feel.

She said that she had wanted to get it out because it had been a big part of her life, but she probably wouldn’t talk about it again.
