BTS Star Tests Negative for COVID-19

After visiting a bar and restaurant in an area that has been hit by a new coronavirus outbreak in Seoul, South Korea, BTS star, Jungkook, had to get tested for COVID-19. Luckily, the result was negative and this news was shared by record label Big Hit Entertainment and heads at the group’s management firm. There were reports circulating around in the Asian nation that Jungkook, along with three fellow stars, had a night out on 25th April in the upmarket neighborhood of Itaewon.

The management teams of every singer confirmed that none of them were positive for COVID-19. These include Jungkook, Seventeen’s Mingyu, Jaehyun from NCT 127 and Astro’s Cha Eunwoo. The statement published by Big Hit stated that Jungkook had visited a bar and a restaurant in the neighborhood of Itaewon along with his friends. Following the visit, he hadn’t shown any COVID-19 symptoms like a fever or coughing.

The statement further said that he had gone to a government-designated hospital for voluntary testing for COVID-19 and the result had been negative. As compared to other nations, the restaurants, businesses and bars in South Korea are still operating. However, citizens have been instructed to maintain social distancing and the country has introduced an intensive regime of contact tracing and testing those who might have been exposed to the coronavirus in the first place.

People who visited bars in the neighborhood of Itaewon between 24th April and 6th May were instructed to self-isolate after an individual who had also visited the area tested positive for the virus on 6th May. Bit Hit mentioned in their statement that Jungkook was very regretful for not having made a contribution to the social distancing efforts being made by the whole society. The managers of the other stars who were out with Jungkook also apologized on their behalf.
