It boasts deep roots in America and a number of country music artists have taken this genre in new stylistic directions. As a matter of fact, the genre has continued to evolve and expand and even features new subgenres like ‘country trap’. If you have a taste for country music, here are some of the best albums of all times that you should listen to:

-    ‘Come On Over’ by Shania Twain

This hit studio album by Shania Twain was introduced in 1997 and become the biggest-selling country music album and also the highest-selling album by a female musician. Some of its most popular singles include ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’, ‘You’re Still the One’, and ‘Man! I Feel Like a Woman’. Each of these songs produced award-winning and popular music videos. Twain promoted this record through TV performances and interviews and also toured it across Oceania, Europe, and North America.

-    ‘No Fences’ by Garth Brooks

This album was released in 1990 and is the best-selling album of Garth Brooks to date. The record catapulted him into stardom and some of the most well-known singles in the album include ‘The Thunder Rolls’, ‘Two of a Kind, Workin’ on a Full House’ and ‘Friends in Low Places’. The album also includes a cover of The Fleetwoods’ song, ‘Mr. Blue’. There was supposed to be a reissue on its 25th anniversary, but it was delayed because of royalty differences.

-    ‘Taylor Swift’ by Taylor Swift

The first full-length album by Taylor Swift hit digital and physical shelves back in 2006 and propelled her career as a country musician. The album comprised of a number of singles including ‘Teardrops on My Guitar’, ‘Tim McGraw’ and ‘Our Song’. All of these singles have had successful music videos and have also been nominated by CMT. Swift toured the record as an opener for Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Rascal Flatts.

-    ‘Always & Forever’ by Randy Travis 

This was a double-platinum record that was launched in 1987 and led to chart-topping singles like ‘I Told You So’, ‘Forever and Ever, Amen’, ‘I Won’t Need You Anymore’ and ‘Too Gone Too Long’. The song ‘What’ll You Do About Me’ was covered by other musicians including The Forester Sisters and Steve Earle. Carrie Underwood and Travis performed the song ‘I Told You So’ together in her album, ‘Carnival Ride’.
