Jay Z and Beyonce Dedicate their Concert to Aretha Franklin


While performing in Aretha Franklin’s hometown Detroit, Beyonce and Jay Z dedicated their entire concert to her, who is reported to be critically ill.
Celebrities from all over have been sending their love and support out to the woman who is battling the end stages of her cancer with utmost determination, alongside her family in Detroit, Michigan.
While performing on their On The Run II Tour, the power couple opened their concert with a few words of love for the gravely ill singer. Jay Z and Beyonce, like many others sent out wishes for a speedy recovery before initiating their performance for the evening. Before the duo showed up on stage, DJ Khaled had held the stage. Before launching into the singer’s hit from 1967, Respect, he too urged the audience to send their love and wishes her way.
Some celebrities took to dedications on social media. Upon hearing of the news of Aretha Franklin’s illness, Missy Elliot, Ciara and Mariah Carey were amongst the many stars to voice their concerns for the star’s ailing health, calling on people to pay their tribute and pray for a full recovery.
While tweeting earlier this year, the renowned rapper Missy, reminded all her followers to appreciate the living legends while they could who have brought the gift of timeless music into this world, and to them.
The man behind Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Paula Abdul, the dancer were also quick to send their affection for the legend.
The singer, Aretha Franklin has said to be in deteriorating health for quite a few years now, because of which she had also retired from touring. The last time she performed was at Elton John AIDs Foundation, on November 7th in New York.
In recent news, the hitmaker is said to be recovering in hospice care.
