Aretha Franklin was visited by her longtime friend, Stevie Wonder at her home in Detroit as she struggles with ill health.
The
Respect hitmaker is currently fighting for her life. Her publicist,
Gwendolyn Quinn revealed to US Weekly that the legend, Stevie Wonder
stopped by and spent some time with the singer.
The
76-year-old star was reportedly working on an original collaboration
with Stevie Wonder last summer for her new album. However, it’s not
known whether the song was completed or not before her deteriorating
health condition.
It
was not only Franklin’s old friend who visited her. Rather, her
ex-husband also checked in with her on Tuesday morning. Glynn Turman
was married to the Queen of Soul from 1978 to 1984. About the
singer’s condition, he revealed that she was seriously ill and was
surrounded by her family members. Civil rights activist Reverend
Jesse Jackson also paid her a visit.
Tom
Franklin, Aretha’s nephew, told People.com that she and her family
are being positive about her recovery and they believe that she’ll
pull through it.
Ever
since the news of Aretha’s illness hit the headlines, many fans and
celebrities have been sending their wishes for her speedy recovery.
Beyonce and JAY-Z dedicated their On the Run II tour show to the
music icon as they performed in the singer’s hometown, Detroit.
Aretha
has struggled with various health woes and even had a tumor removed.
Her most recent performance was last November for the Elton John AIDS
Foundation in New York.
