A man rushed onstage during a Beyonce and JAY-Z concert in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday. For that, he is now been arrested and charged with battery.
The
26-year-old Anthony Charles Thomas Maxwell was originally cited for
disorderly conduct. According to a source, he was released, but the
Atlanta police officers have now charged him with battery offense.
The
alleged suspect ran onto the stage at Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz
stadium during Beyonce‘s and JAY-Z’s On the Run II tour’s
concert as it was ending. He approached the famous rapper and even
made contact with him. However, some security people and some of the
backup dancers quickly stopped him. No one was actually hurt during
the incident except for the intruder, who had some minor injuries.
The
music power couple declared that they did not intend to personally
press charges. They gave a statement to clear things out which said
that the intruder was an intoxicated male. Beyonce’s and JAY-Z’s
On the Run II tour website put up the statement which also mentioned
that no one was hurt during the incident and that they are not
pressing any charges against him.
The
hip-hop star and the American singer are yet to comment personally on
the incident, but Beyonce’s publicist has thanked fans for their
concerns and has assured that the tour will continue as normal.
The
power couple is now at the tail of their On the Run II tour which has
been successful. It will end in Seattle, Washington in October.
