In recent news, Nicki Minaj has not permitted Kanye West to release their previous collaboration on his upcoming album.
Vultures, a new record that is soon to be released by the Stronger rapper, does not include the collaborative track prepared by the pair.
However, Kanye wants to include the song on his upcoming album, which is why he reached out to the hitmaker of Starships on the micro-blogging website X, formerly known as Twitter.
He requested her to sign off on her verse that appears in the song created by the two, called New Body.
The musician further added that it would be included in his upcoming album, which is going to be released soon.
The rapper posted a screenshot of the text message he sent to Nicki, which includes him greeting the star and asking her for her permission to clear the song.
The Super Freaky Girl took to Instagram Live to respond to the request, saying that she does not want the collaboration to be released right around the release of her most recent album.
The singer had just released Pink Friday 2 earlier in the previous week and told Kanye that the train had long left the station.
In her words, she is unsure why the rapper has his heart set on releasing a collaboration that the pair recorded three years ago.
She went on to add that she does not want to disrespect him but is genuinely curious about the musician’s obsession with the song.
Kanye has not yet responded to the Instagram Live session recorded by Nicki, but he did play the collaborative song, New Body, at a party.
The rapper had been attending a listening party in Miami earlier in the week and played the track, including the verse recorded by the 41-year-old.
The song was first recorded by Kanye and Nicki in 2018. Back then, the pair called Ty Dolla $ign on board as well for the album by the Gold Digger rapper, Yandhi.
However, the project was scrapped as time passed, but the demo of the song was leaked on the internet.
In the previous year, the Pound The Alarm singer talked about the collaboration in an interview, saying that the ship has sailed for the track.
The collaborative album by Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign is all set to be released now, but the rapper continues to miss its date.
In other news, Nicki is working on her documentary series and assured fans that it will be released in due time.
In July 2022, the rapper put out a trailer for the six-part documentary series named Nicki and announced to her fans that it would be released soon.
However, in a recent interview, the star was asked about the project, and she responded that it had to be pushed back on account of delays with her album.
But the star went on to assure the fans that since Pink Friday 2 is now complete, she will now be focusing on the documentary.
According to the hitmaker, it did not make sense for her to put out both her projects at the same time.
