Blackpink Renews Its Contract With YG Entertainment

In recent news, Blackpink has entered into a new contractual agreement with YG Entertainment.

In the last couple of weeks, there has been considerable speculation regarding the future of the K-pop girl band at the label.

But a filing by the company eliminated all speculation and confirmed that the hitmakers of Pink Venom would continue at the agency.

In a statement released by YG, it was revealed that the board had passed a resolution to renew the contracts with the four members of Blackpink.

Meanwhile, the founder of the firm, Yang Hyun Suk, added that they are pleased to continue their relationship with the girl group.

In his words, Blackpink would continue to shine brighter in the music market across the globe as they represent YG Entertainment.

The statement went on to appreciate the fans for their gratitude, faith, and unwavering support for the artists.

The band, which comprises Lisa, Rose, Jennie, and Jisoo, concerned fans when reports started to circulate about the group choosing a different label.

This was when the band’s concert was about to expire and was up for renewal after a time span of seven years.

Despite the K-pop girl group signing its contract with the label, the individual agreements of the band members are still under discussion.

It is no secret that Blackpink is the most successful group across the globe, especially one that hails from Korea.

For this reason, it was recently honored by King Charles, who invited them to a state banquet held at Buckingham Palace.

At the event, the hosts invited around 170 guests and welcomed the girls with glitter and pomp in London.

The banquet was held personally by the King and Queen Camilla to honor the President of South Korea, namely Yoon Suk Yeol, and his wife, the First Lady Kim Keon Hee.

It was the pair’s first-ever visit to the UK, and the monarchs thought it fit to host a banquet to make them feel welcome.

At the event, the King decided to give a speech and took to appreciating the band for their ongoing work for the environment.

Speaking to the guests, Charles added that it is inspiring to see youngsters from Korea fully embrace the cause and work for the greater good of the environment.

He took each member’s name to personally thank them for their role in bringing about environmental sustainability and promoting the message to a global audience.

The group is well-known for its role as an Ambassador for the Presidency of COP 26 in the UK and for advocating for the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN.

According to the King, he admires how the girls have prioritized such important issues while pursuing a full-time career as superstars.

He went on to add that on his previous visit to the capital of South Korea in 1992, he was accompanied by his now-deceased ex-wife, Diana, the Princess of Wales.

In his words, the King joked that though he had a great time in Seoul, he failed to develop the Gangnam Style.
