In recent news, Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and Madonna have been revealed to be three of the headliners for the upcoming Glastonbury Festival.
Over the years, the festival has received considerable criticism for having a higher ratio of males to females where its headline acts are concerned.
However, for the year 2024, two women have been asked to take the top slots for the first time in history.
The levitating hitmaker will be taking the Pyramid Stage on the first day of the event, followed by the Yellow hitmakers on the second day of the Glastonbury Festival.
Meanwhile, the Ray Of Light singer, who is in the middle of her own world tour, will be headlining the event on closing day.
The organizers of the festival revealed that they are thrilled with the line-up that they have picked for this year.
As per sources, they believe that this is a dream line-up, which combines the different atmospheres and music that these stars bring.
Coldplay has been asked to headline the event in the past as well in the years 2002, 2005, 2011, and 2016.
Meanwhile, Dua and Madonna will be making their first-ever appearances at the iconic event, which will take place at the Worthy Farm in Somerset.
The news of the three headliners comes only a couple of weeks after Emily Eavis, the organizer, hinted that Madonna would be set to top the bill.
Speaking on a podcast, the organizer said that everything was taking shape, but Madonna was unavailable.
However, she later got a call from the star’s agent, who talked about her availability, and Emily was pretty excited.
Just a couple of days ago, she attended a concert by the musician at the O2 and was blown away by her stage presence.
According to the organizer, the Legends slot performer has also been confirmed, hinting that it is a female singer.
In other news, Megan Thee Stallion has released a new single, Cobra, which she has funded herself.
In the words of the rapper, the song reflects her self-reliance and courage, the same as the snake that it shares the title with.
This comes soon after the musician was shot in the foot by Tory Lanez, a fellow rapper, and fighting a legal battle with 1501 Certified Entertainment.
The court struggle was over the record label allegedly interfering with the star’s control over her own music and trying to pin her down by locking her into a contract.
Megan took to Instagram to talk about the traits of the Cobra, saying that they are fierce and stand tall in the face of adversity.
She went on to add that the reptile believes in conquering its threats and tapping into its inner strength. Thus, she added, that is what she is doing by emulating the cobra.
Just last year, the popstar took to channeling her trauma in her record titled Traumazine. On Cobra, Megan raps about how depressed she was, saying that it felt like she had hit rock bottom.
