Megan Thee Stallion Withdraws From Global Citizen Festival

In recent news, Megan Thee Stallion has decided to drop out of the lineup for the 2023 Global Citizen Festival.

While the singer’s team has not confirmed anything, the management of the Global Citizen Festival revealed that she has dropped out of the performance, which was to be held in New York City.

As per the management, the 28-year-old rapper’s team said that there were a bunch of scheduling conflicts, due to which the singer would not be attending the music festival.

Various outlets were informed by the relevant people at the festival about this news, but Megan has not yet made any comment regarding the situation.

Back in the first week of July, the Grammy winner revealed that she was excited to be headlining the upcoming music festival.

Moreover, it had been decided that she would be performing alongside Lauryn Hill and Red-Hot Chilli Peppers.

But after the 28-year-old withdrew as the headliner and performer, it was announced by the management of the festival that Jung Kook of BTS would be headlining the show alongside Anitta.

In addition to the two popular headliners, D-Nice, Sofia Carson, Conan Gray, and Stray Kids will also be taking the Central Park stage in the upcoming weeks.

The festival is a free-ticketed event and will be broadcast live from Central Park in New York City on the 23rd of September.

Through the event, the organizers are aiming to put an end to extreme poverty and, consequently, raise awareness for the ongoing climate crisis.

They also want to shed light on the various inequities that affect girls and women across the world, especially in underdeveloped countries.

The management of the Global Citizen Festival announced Megan’s withdrawal only hours before she was scheduled to perform at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

The rapper is all set to perform Bongos, one of her most recent collaborations with Cardi B, at the event being held in the Prudential Center in New Jersey.

In addition to her music career, Megan is also moving towards the acting industry. She has been cast to star in Dicks: The Musical, an upcoming comedy film.

It will be directed by Larry Charles and will premiere in 2023 at the Toronto International Film Festival. It is going to be released on the 29th of September.

In other news, Beyonce has taken to thank Diana Ross for wishing her a happy birthday by singing the song during a performance in Los Angeles.

On the 4th of September, the Motown legend gave the star a surprise at her concert when she appeared on the stage at the SoFi stadium.

She went on to serenade Beyonce, who looked giddy with happiness, with a rendition of the usual birthday song.

Later on, the legend took to social media to share pictures of the precious moment and thanked Diana for her wish.

Referring to the singer as a Queen, Beyonce told her how grateful she was for the honor of being wished a happy birthday by her.
