In recent news, Kylie Minogue has secured the Official Number 1 Album position for the ninth time in her career. This time, her latest release, Tension, has been the cause for her celebrations.
The 16th studio album by the Australian superstar also features her most recent Top 10 single, called Padam Padam, and hit single, Tension, which is also the title track of the album.
The album has managed to score no less than 53,000 chart sales in its first week alone and outsold the rest of the songs in the Top 5 combined to achieve this milestone.
Tension has now joined the various hit tracks that the singer has put out over the years, such as the 1988 debut, Kylie, 1989’s song, Enjoy Yourself, and the collection of Greatest Hits from her 2001 record, titled Fever.
She also garnered fame with Aphrodite, a track from 2010, and Golden, a release from 2018. But the musician did not stop there.
Right before the pandemic in 2019, the star dropped Step Back In Time, The Definitive Collection, and went on to release LP DISCO in 2020, which all went on to become UK-chart toppers.
On account of the success that Tension has experienced, Kylie has pulled right up to the levels of Coldplay and Bob Dylan, who have secured a place for themselves on the list of acts with the most Number 1 albums on the UK Official Charts.
Both celebrities have nine albums to their number at the top of the charts, sharing the feat with only two women, namely Taylor Swift and Madonna, who have 10 and 12 chart-topping albums, respectively.
But now, Tension has landed Kylie as the third female solo artist to be at the top of the charts, who is also at the top of the Official Vinyl Album Chart this week.
Meanwhile, Olivia Rodrigo has stayed inside the Top 5 for the third week in a row with her popular song, GUTS.
The singer and songwriter from California is currently holding strong at Number 2 with her second studio LP.
On the other hand, Headie One, drill trailblazers from the UK, as well as K-Trap, have claimed their first-ever collaborative album, which has landed in the Top 5.
Consequently, Strength to Strength by Headie One, whose real name is Irving Ampofo, has managed to drop his third LP that has landed in the Top 5.
Furthermore, Doja Cat has also achieved a milestone with her second album, Scarlet, landing in the Top 5 charts in the UK.
Paint The Town Red, Demons and Attention, have also become Doja’s second LP in the Top 5. It has followed her hit song from 2021, called Planet Her.
Consequently, Paint The Town Red, Demons and Attention has become the star’s third album to be in the Top 40.
Doja first landed in the Official Albums Chart back in 2019, with her release at the time titled Hot Pink.
At the moment, Bakar has also claimed a career-best achievement with Halo standing at Number 15.
