Just recently, Niall Horan has said that he does not and will not compete with any of his former mates from the popular band, One Direction.
Despite the fact that all the members of the boy band went on to pursue their solo careers after One Direction broke up, Niall insists that there is no competition between him, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Liam Payne.
In a recent interview, when asked about whether the boys compete with each other, he said that he does not think so.
Instead, Niall said, when he sees others being successful, he feels proud of the success of his friends.
In his words, they share a bond that can never be broken, which means they are always supporting each other and looking out for the other members.
The star is all set to put out his third solo album, called The Show, in the upcoming month. According to Niall, the songs on this album portray a different side of him and take his music in a different direction.
The former One Direction singer went on to add that if he had made this album around four years ago, he would not have been able to write a number of tracks that are a part of The Show.
However, Niall is grateful that he had time during the coronavirus pandemic to reflect on his life and everything that had happened for and to him up until that time.
In the words of the popstar, after the lockdown was lifted, he felt braver and bolder. He realized that he wanted to say a bunch of things that he probably never would have said before.
Reflecting on his new album, the ex-boy band member revealed that when he wrote the title song, The Show, he realized that there were a number of blessings in his life that he was grateful for.
According to Niall, the album is pretty contemplative. On the other hand, he assured fans that it has a couple of fun songs as well, but he has used an alternative approach to his music.
The 29-year-old iterated that he makes music for himself, but he does his best to ensure that his fans do not feel alienated. Rather, he wants them to be able to relate to his words and enjoy the music as well.
In the interview, the singer also added that he cannot wait to release his new album so that he can go on tour and perform for fans.
According to Niall, being on the road is one of the best parts of being in the music industry. He enjoys the feeling of going up on stage each night and loves it when adrenaline courses through his body.
Most of all, the former One Direction star said, he feels happy to just be singing the tunes that he has personally written and composed.
Moreover, he stated that there is no better feeling than the joy a singer feels when people in the crowd sing the lyrics alongside them.
