In recent news, Billie Eilish has taken to reveal details of her BBC special that is going to be on air soon, namely, Billie Eilish: Up Close.
Several weeks ago, it was announced that the ‘NDA’ singer had joined hands with the broadcasting giant to come up with something special for all her fans. Now it has been confirmed that her one-off program will be aired on BBC One on Saturday, 31st of July, at 10:30 pm. The 19-year-old will sit down with DJ Clara Amfo, of BBC Radio 1, to talk about her sensational rise to stardom and becoming a role model for many across the globe.
Just a day before the 45-minute BBC special will be aired, the pop sensation is going to be releasing her most awaited second studio album named ‘Happier Than Ever’.
A press release by the broadcasting giant revealed that the special will be filmed in the hometown of the Grammy-winner in Los Angeles. The interviewer will ask her questions about the release of her most recent album, in addition to her extraordinary rise to stardom, her remarkable success, as well as the impact that fame has had on her life. She will also talk about what it is like to be an inspiration for youngsters all over the world.
The first announcement of Billie working with BBC was made by the co-president of the singer’s label, Polydor, Tom March. He had said that the Bad Guy hitmaker had been contacted by the broadcasting giant to work on a surprise for her fans.
In the past, celebrities such as Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, and Adele have joined hands with BBC to land their own TV specials.
In addition, the popstar is all set to make a debut on the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge and her session will be aired on Saturday on BBC iPlayer. Her fans can also listen in on an incredible cover on the radio on the 5th of August.
On the other hand, the Gramm-winner made another announcement informing that her cinematic concert experience will soon be premiering but only on Disney Plus. On the 3rd of September, Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles will be available on the streaming service.
The concert experience will also include an intimate performance of every single song on the album, in order of the sequence, it has been added in, once and for all. The performances will be shown as they occur on the stage of the incredible Hollywood Bowl.
The singer gave a statement in which she asserted that she believes that Disney is iconic and was thrilled to collaborate with it on something like this. She was excited about being able to present her album with intimate performances and dedicate it to the city that holds her heart.
Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles has been directed by Patrick Osborne and Robert Rodriguez, which will consist of animated elements. Viewers will be able to experience a dreamlike journey through the hometown of the 19-year-old and experience its most incredibly iconic backdrops.
