Is the Fender Classic Series 72 Telecaster Deluxe Electric Guitar worth it?

The Fender Telecaster Deluxe was designed in the seventies to attract rock guitarists. The current Classic Series is simply an improved version of the old Telecaster body shape. The electronics have been altered but, only to match the trending sounds nowadays. At first, however, the guitar did not receive the much-deserved appreciation. Developers were forced to shut down production until it regained popularity once again. After its reintroduction, the Fender Deluxe came out looking better than before.

Build

Though a few tweaks were made, the body of the original Telecaster was more or less retained. To make the design more comfortable while playing, a rib cutout in a Stratocaster style was added. The headstock too was made into a strat.

The neck has been constructed out of maple and wide frets have been used to line it. On the other hand, alder wood has been used to create the body of the instrument. You obviously do not want the device to make you sound out of tune. Thus, to ensure that it allows you smooth playing action, the neck has been modified a little. It is now connected with the usual bullet truss rod system. You can also now adjust the device using the micro-tilt angle. Another good news for guitar enthusiasts is that the Deluxe has the ability to house 21 jumbo frets, medium in size.

Besides its visual appeal, the craftsmanship of the guitar is exceptional. The chrome hardware and the finish make the instrument difficult to ignore. You will fall in love with it at first sight!

Performance

One other thing that makes this particular Telecaster so attractive is its performance. It has a fretboard of radius 12 inches. This means that string bending is now simply easier and better than the usual 9.5 inches. The guitar also features a comfortable body shape due to the rib scoop. It comes into contact with your body as you play and puts you at ease. This trait makes it ten times better than the body shape of the original Telecaster. Overall, the Classic Series 72 has easy fret action, responsive tone, and is a blast to play!

Tone

The original Telecaster was exclusively designed to have single-coil pickups. However, the Fender Telecaster Deluxe features one pair of humbucker pickups. This means that along with a warmer and thicker sound, it also now has an extended sustain. It will allow you to create a tone that is similar to the one created by guitarists in the seventies. Other great additions to this instrument are three-way toggle switch to facilitate better tone control and four tone and volume knobs.

If you are a guitarist or have met one before, then you know that they are more or less only concerned with tone. The Fender Telecaster Deluxe is popular amongst many musicians due to its versatile yet warm sound. The three-way toggle switch now makes playing easier because it will allow you to manage the tone. You can also get creative with the sounds with the help of the two-tone knobs. Try it once and you will agree that this electric guitar and its sound quality is worth every penny you pay for it!

The verdict

There is no denying that the Fender Telecaster Deluxe is an affordable and value for money product if you want to take home a couple of wide range humbuckers. Where the sound is concerned, there is simply no other instrument that is more bang for your buck. Numerous guitarists adore this instrument due to its high-quality craftsmanship and top-notch tone. You too could become one of those guitarists!
