The Cherrytree Sessions by Robyn


This is the first extended play version by Swedish recording artist Robyn, the album was released on 3rd February 2009 by Cherrytree Records. The tracks originally recorded for the web program “Live at the Cherrytree House”. The extended version received positive reviews from critics.

The platinum-haired Robyn has a unique voice, her voice is not much different from her singing voice. Robyn spent four years on tour to support her album. Instead of having her own label, she continues to work with other record companies around the world. Island in the UK and Cherry Tree Records in the US and some other labels distributed her album internationally.

Robin Miriam Carlsson was born in Stockholm Sweden on 12 June 1979. She is a songwriter, singer DJ and record producer. She started her career in 1995 by her debut album “Robyn is here”. The single tracks “Show me, love, don’t stop the music and Show me love” were released in Sweden and ranked in the top 10 singles of Billboard Hot 100.

She got success after the release of her fourth album “Robyn” in 2005, which led her to the Grammy Award nomination. Robyn released the single track “Be Mine” in 2005, the track earned a lot of success in Sweden. Influenced by Rap, R&B, electronica and new age music. Robyn earned the singer three 2006 Swedish Grammy Awards. 

Robyn evoked global interest after the release of three more singles “Crash and burn girl, handle me and who’s that girl”. She came on the BBC Radio showcase show by Jo Whiley, named Live Lounge, in Australia. She ranked top 10 on the iTunes’ album chart “With every heartbeat” received attention on video and radio networks.
