Gwen Stefani Didn’t Like her Replacement on ‘The Voice USA’

The singing competition would be making its return to screens next year, but the ‘Hollback Girl’ star will not be reclaiming her red chair. But, the signer was not pleased when she found out that her spot on the panel would be going to Nick Jonas. When talking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, the 50-year-old hit-maker was asked if she had any say in who would replace her.

She answered that it wasn’t up to her and if she did have a say, it wouldn’t be the Jonas Brother star. However, even though she was unhappy about this decision, Gwen believes that the show will do Nick some good because it will provide him with encouragement to work more on his own music. She said the singer would be inspired because she had been through the same. The singer said that The Voice had encouraged her to do a lot more with her music.

Nick announce last month that he had been selected to join mentors Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Blake Shelton, who is Gwen’s boyfriend, on the show. The 27-year-old made the announcement alongside a smiling picture. Gwen had been asked to step in as a replacement coach this year when Adam Levine decided to step down from his position after 16 seasons of the show.

Meanwhile, the position of Mega Mentor had been given to Taylor Swift this year, to help in coaching the contestants and preparing them for the Knockout Rounds to be held in October. However, it hasn’t been confirmed if the ‘ME!’ hit-maker will be returning this season for the same gig.
In other news, Gwen Stefani was also honored with the accolade of Fashion Icon at the People’s Choice Awards conducted on November 10th, 2019. Speaking at the evening ceremony, the singer said that she would pass the statuette to her middle child, just like her ancestors. The singer also has two other kids with ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale. She stated that she had loved fashion since she was little because of her mom, grandmother and great-mother.

In her speech, the Don’t Speak’ hit-maker also gave tribute to Blake Shelton, her boyfriend. She said that he inspired her all the time and she loved him because he was the real deal and he also returned the public gesture with one of his own onstage at Santa Monica’s Barker Hanger. While both of them were quite successful at the event, Gwen admitted that her partner was uncomfortable as he doesn’t do many red carpets.
