Billboard to Honor Meghan Trainor At The Women In Music Ceremony
Megan Trainor will be honored with "Women in Music for 2016" by Billboard for her music that made milestones on its music charts. The news was broken in an official announcement from Billboard last week that also suggests that Maren Morris is the winner of “Breakthrough Artist of 2016,” trophy that is intended to celebrate the artist who has solidified her voice during the last passing year with career-defining music acts.
Taking place on December 9, 2016, "the Women in Music" ceremony is due to highlight New York City with its presence and will also be aired on Lifetime on December 12. Both the announced winners are slated to present a live performance at the gleaming event.
There was also an announcement for awarding Madonna the "Woman of the year" prize at the gala event while it will also honor Shania Twain with the trophy of "icon" Women in Music to recognize the great talent of the popular country singer. In addition, Billboard will present its "rising star" award to songstress Halsey while Andra Day is going to be named the “Powerhouse” trophy which stands among other prizes that are yet to-be announced soon.
