In recent news, Nigel Lythgoe has spoken out about the sexual assault allegations leveled against him.
In his words, he feels saddened and shocked that someone could say something so horrifying against him.
Paula Abdul, a former collaborator of Nigel’s, has taken to file a lawsuit against him, accusing him of sexually assaulting her when the pair worked together.
The executive producer of American Idol in Los Angeles has denied all these allegations, saying that he is confused as to why she would file such a lawsuit against him.
He went on to add that he does not understand why she would accuse him of such a thing when it is ‘untrue’.
The singer insisted that he would fight the spear campaign being run against him and ensure to allocate all of his resources to it.
Nigel has strongly denied all the allegations, adding that he has only ever interacted with the singer as a platonic friend.
Therefore, it came as a surprise to be accused of sexual assault, saying that it was pretty offensive to him.
Meanwhile, the 61-year-old claimed in her lawsuit that the 74-year-old had pushed her against the wall of an elevator in a hotel and groped her.
She recalled that this took place back when Paula was serving as a judge on American Idol between 2002 and 2009.
She went on to add that Nigel had kissed her without her consent and proceeded to do so even when she said no.
Paula has further claimed that the choreographer often made several unwanted advances toward her, even years later. The latter was when the two worked as judges on So You Think You Can Dance.
The 61-year-old was the main judge on the show between 2015 and 2016, and she added that during that time, Nigel forced himself on her.
She said that she had been seated on a couch at his home after the two had dinner, and he kissed her.
The musician further recalled that while he tried to kiss her, the executive producer claimed that they would make an excellent power couple together.
Consequently, she is currently suing him for alleged sexual assault, sexual harassment, negligence, and gender violence.
In other news, Shane MacGowan’s widow has been reported to be in grief counseling.
The long-term partner of the singer of Fairytale of New York, Victoria Mary Clarke, was right by his side on the 30th of November when he passed.
The 65-year-old had been hit by a couple of illnesses in the last couple of months, which included pneumonia.
As a result, he had been hospitalized and was struggling to recover from his bout of illnesses.
Victoria took to Instagram to give an update about how she is coping with his passing, saying that she wanted to be shot dead rather than deal with the pain.
Shortly after she began having such thoughts, Shane’s widow decided to enroll herself in therapy to come to terms with her grief.
