American singer and songwriter, Alicia Keys had announced her upcoming seventh studio album called Alicia, which is stylized as ALICIA, in January 2020. It was scheduled for a release in this year through RCA Records. Originally, the album had been slated for a Spring 2020 release date of March 20th. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the album’s release date was first pushed back for two months. Fans of the Grammy-winning singer had noticed that the album was listed on Apple Music and Amazon with a release date of May 15th.
However, the album has now been postponed once again due to the COVID-19 pandemic that doesn’t seem to be slowing down. The record had also been planned to be supported by the singer’s ALICIA: The World Tour that was to commence in June 2020. Keys had been planning to trek on what would have been her first tour in seven years. The European leg of the tour had been scheduled to begin on June 5th in Dublin whereas the North American leg of the tour was supposed to kick off in Jacksonville, Florida on July 28th. The tour was scheduled to end on September 22nd, 2020. Ticket sales have now been put on hold due to the crisis situation.

ALICIA was a follow-up of the singer’s album in 2016 called Here. The title of the new album was first mentioned by the singer in an interview in Billboard back in December 2019. She disclosed that she was working on the album and her memoir, which served as the best therapy for her. The album had been announced formally on January 20th, 2020 when she posted the cover art on her social media accounts. So far, the singer has already released a few singles from the album, which include ‘Show Me Love’, ‘Time Machine’, ‘Underdog’ and ‘Good Job’. The album comprises of a total of 15 tracks.
Speaking about the album, Keys had said that it reflected different sides of her. She said that the album had helped her discover all parts of her that she didn’t know she had. She came to know that she had hidden away parts that expressed rage, anger, vulnerability and sensuality. Fans of the singer will have to wait for the whole album at least till December 31st, 2020. No information has been provided regarding the new dates for her tour due to the uncertain situation.
