Katy Perry will Perform at the Final of the ICC Women’s World Cup

The one-off performance at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final was announced by the ‘Chained to the Rhythm’ hit-maker. It is to be held on March 8th, 2020 at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia. She made the announcement on Instagram and touted her support for women as the same date is also celebrated at International Women’s Day. The concert will be the first one of the U.S. popstar in the country after her ‘Witness: The Tour’ in 2018.

The singer had revealed in May that she had absolutely no plans of going on tour because combining both parts of her job only caused one thing to suffer. She said that she couldn’t go on tour as yet because she was focusing on making a record, which she couldn’t do otherwise. Katy also said that in the last eleven years, the music industry had undergone significant change. The singer said that it was certainly not the same as it had been when she had launched her debut album, ‘One of the Boys’ in 2008.

The ‘I Kissed a Girl’ hit-maker said that 2008 was a different time and now 2019 was a different one. She said that the playing field had been totally transformed after all the changes that had been made during this time. She said that there was a lot of relearning and rewriting to do. The singer added that since she was a big fan of music and also an observer, in her opinion the number of characters had declined. According to her, many songs are coming out, but the number of personalities and characters has gone down.

On Saturday, 16th November, 2019, Katy will be performing at the OnePlus Music Festival in Mumbai and is on the same lineup as Dua Lipa. The ‘One Kiss’ hit-maker was definitely pleased about being able to share a stage with her idol. She posted a series of pictures of her trip on Instagram and expressed her excitement at being in India. Katy said that she had never had the opportunity to perform before that crowd and was looking forward to it.
