Pusha T gains rankings on the Social 50 Chart amid Drake Beef

The Billboard Social 50 Chart dated June the 9th, saw gains owing to a pair of rap beefs, as Pusha T lead the way at No. 7 in the rankings.

Next Big Sound, which is a music analytics company, tracks the data that powers the Social 50 chart, which takes into account social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Tumblr and Wikipedia to rank the most popular artists. Friends, fans or followers as well as, page views and engagement are taken into account on a weekly basis in the calculations.

Pusha T has released his new album called ‘Daytona’, which has managed a spot at No. 3 in the Billboard 200 rankings. However, his spot at No. 7 in the Social 50 in the first week of ranking, is the result of something else as well. The rapper has a track called ‘Infared’ from his album Daytona that disses the rapper Drake, who responded in kind with a track of his own called ‘Duppy Freestyle’ on May the 25th.

Another track was released by Pusha T, following up on Drake’s response with a track called ‘The Story of Adidon’ on May the 29th. The track made many allegations, the most notable of which, was a claim that last year, Sophie Brussax and Drake had a child.

This prompted a lot of activity on social media pages of Pusha T, as according to Next Big Sound, the rapper managed to accumulate 159,000 views on his Wikipedia page, which is a boost of 2,580 percent. Similarly, he was also mentioned on Twitter 249,000 times, which is a boost of 2,462 percent.
Drake meanwhile, had his own gains on the Social 50, as he landed on No. 16, re-entering the chart which he last appeared on April the 7th. However, Drake’s views on his Wikipedia page were far less than Pusha T, but his mentions on Twitter, 364,000 to be exact, were significantly higher, which was a 942 percent boost.
