Lady Gaga has succeeded in beating her rivals and has become the Hottest Summer Superstar for MTV in 2017. Gaga’s loyal fan base has been referred to as Little Monsters and they are the ones who voted and helped her win this accolade. As a matter of fact, they voted so frantically that they ended up leaving the competition behind in the dust as the singer managed to win by a clear margin.
The competition, which was run by the music channel, had a clear winner in the Born This Way singer when she managed to get a staggering 65 million votes. The number two slot was taken up by Zara Larrson who was able to get 40 million votes. The number three slot, on the other hand, was earned by Justin Bieber, because he was 50 million votes short of the quirky singer. Fifth Harmony had won the accolade last year, but they got the number four slot this time around with 10 million votes. As for the fifth position, it was taken up by Nicki Minaj.
Other singers in the top 10 list included ex One Direction members Harry Style and Zayn Malik, along with Clean Bandit, Lana Del Ray and Fifth Harmony singer Camila Cabello.
They may not be the only award that Lady Gaga wins this year as the 31-year-old singer received a record-setting number of nominations for the Emmy Awards because of her performance at the Super Bowl halftime show 2017. She earned a nomination in about six categories, which included Outstanding Musical Direction and Outstanding Special Class Program. At that time, she had tweeted that she was proud of her entire team and was grateful for the Emmy nominations. The Emmys will take place on September 17th.
Apart from that, Gaga has already won a Golden Globe for her acting in American Horror Story and has also received multiple Grammy Awards.
