After she watched her sister give birth, Katy Perry has once again committed to helping children. The Roar was present in the delivery room with her sister, Angela Hudson, when she gave birth both times, i.e. in 2014 and in September of this year. The star tweeted that she had helped with the delivery of her sister at 2 pm and had been in the studio for work by 8 pm, which proved that a girl is capable of doing both things.
Back in 2014 as well, the singer had documented her absolute joy at becoming an aunt and being able to witness the actual birth. She had written that her resume could now also include helping deliver babies in living rooms and called herself Auntie Katie also known as Stylist Auntie. Since she is a proud and doting aunt now, she is aware of how important it is to ensure that children receive proper care and she is making an effort to bring music therapy to all children who are sick.
On Saturday, 15th October 2016, Katy Perry spoke to E! News at the Once Upon a Time Gala at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. She said that she had seen the birth of children and understood their vulnerability and also that it was their responsibility to take care of them, which was quite huge. She added that children were becoming a point of focus for her, even though she didn’t have any of her own. Just looking at her sister’s kids and seeing how much nurturing they need was enough to show her.
Previously married to Russell Brand, Katy Perry has been dating Orlando Bloom since January of this year, who has a son with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr. In 2011, she spoke to Ellen Degeneres and said that she would love to have children as that was one of the most important reasons for getting married.
