Foy Vance to Produce New Album on Ed Sheeran’s Label
Details about his first album has been announced by Foy Vance for the label Gingerbread Man Records that was launched by Ed Sheeran in the previous year with the self-titled No. 1 album by Jamie Lawson. The Wild Swan was released on May 13th and had been recorded with Jacquire King, the GRAMMY award-winner in Nashville. The executive producer of the album is the recording legend Elton John.
Elton said that he felt privileged to be a part of the singer’s first album for the Gingerbread Man Records as he is a remarkable singer and writer. Ed Sheeran and Foy Vance have been friends for a long time and have frequently collaborated and toured together. The relationship of the pair moves to another level for The Wild Swan, an album that takes cues from and gives a nod to heroes such as Ziggy Stardust, Noam Chomsky and WB Yeats. Sheeran said that he was very pleased to release Foy’s album on his label as he had been his fan since he first saw him live.
He added that The Wild Swan was amazing and he was looking forward to everyone hearing it. One of the reasons why Sheeran founded the label was to grant artistic freedom to musicians he truly believes in. Therefore, he made an incredible offer to his friend; an opportunity to make a new album with a record company led by an artist and with no constraints and full support.
