Suspected Terror Attack in NYC Leaves Josh Groban ‘Shaking’


On Tuesday afternoon, actor/singer Josh Groban ran for his life after multiple gun shots rang out in New York City as police took down a suspected terrorist. In lower Manhattan, a man drove a rented car onto a bike and pedestrian path thereby ramming into a huge crowd of people. The incident left approximately eight people dead and numerous others injured. He jumped out of the vehicle when he collided with a school bus and began brandishing what seemed to be two firearms.

This prompted a uniform police officer to come forward and confront him and eventually he shot him in the abdomen. Since then, the man was taken into custody and taken to the hospital to be treated for the wound. Posting on Twitter, Groban revealed that he had watched the drama unfold as he had been out with his dog for a walk and had done his best to get to safety. The singer/actor returned to social media after he heard the news about the attack and shared additional details about the frightening experience.

He said that he had been half a block away from where it had happen and even though he hadn’t seen anything, he had heard the sound of shots being fired, which left him shaking. He added that he would have been at that spot having his coffee, but his dog delayed him by pulling him into a park that was half a block away. He also acknowledge that it was Halloween and sent his condolences to the victims while stating that the courage of the trick and treaters was inspiring.

Since then, Bill de Blasio, the Mayor of New York City has called the incident a ‘cowardly act of terror’. Other celebrities also took to social media to send their condolences to the families of the victims who had been caught in the tragedy. Jared Leto and actress Zoe Saldana sent prayers and wishes to people in New York City on such a day. Likewise, British singer Sam Smith also shared his grief as did others like William shatner and Frozen star, Josh Gad.
