Beyonce’s Fans Displeased with Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift have found herself on the receiving end of criticism from Beyonce’s fans who claim that she ripped off their idol’s style in her new video. A similarity was noticed by fans of the Run the World singer when Taylor Swift dropped a teaser on social media of her new single, Look What you Made Me Do, on Thursday, August 24th. Beyonce had released the track called Formation back in 2016 from her album Lemonade and fans believe that Taylor’s teaser and the Formation video is remarkably similar.

The I Knew You Were Trouble singer was slammed for copying the dance routine of Beyonce in the short clip she has released. Fans voiced their opinions on Twitter and some chose to prove their point by taking screengrabs of the two videos and posting them side by side. In one shot of the video clip, Taylor is wearing fishnet tights and a black leotard and is surrounded by male dancers who are wearing something similar. The same style outfit was worn by Beyonce when she had performed Formation at the 2016 Super Bowl halftime show and her line-up of uniformed backup dancers had also been boasting the same fashion.

However, the comparison with Beyonce is not the only reason why Taylor received negative reactions from people after dropping the single; a number of people are not pleased with the change in musical direction that the singer seems to be taking with her new song. Lots of quote stated that they missed the old Taylor Swift touch and were not happy with this song. Furthermore, some people have also gone so far to suggest that the song is nothing but a dig at some of Taylor’s enemies such as Katy Perry and Kanye West. This is also due to the fact that the release date of Taylor’s new single will put her in direct competition with Katy Perry’s Swish Swish.

Some fans have raised eyebrows at this ‘coincidence’ and it has even been called a rather ‘predictable’ move by Taylor Swift. It is something that not all fans are going to appreciate.
