Ellie Goulding taking Role Model Status Seriously
Writing songs that have a positive message for her female followers has become the goal of pop star Ellie Goulding. The 29-year-old singer has become a role model for millions of people around the world and the Burn singer knows exactly how much attention is garnered by her music. Therefore, she is determined to write tunes that will be received well by her young devotees and bear a positive message. Speaking to Seventeen magazine, the star said that she didn’t want girls to feel that they aren’t thin or pretty enough for someone or something.
She said that she was a naturally compassionate person, which is why she always puts others before her and that’s something she tries through her music. She asserted that she wanted to write songs that were relatable for girls because she knew exactly what they were going through as he had been there herself. In the past, the singer has been romantically linked to Ed Sheeran, Niall Horan and Skrillex. It was only last month that she ended the two year relationship with Dougie Poynter.
However, in her interview, the star insists that she and Ed had only been friends and her song On My Mind is most definitely not based on him. She said that they had known each other for a couple of years and he is a great musician. She added that they had hung out and he was a perfectly nice guy, but hanging out is not dating and they had never been in a relationship. Apart from that, she also reassured her fans that after her recent breakup, she is not ‘quitting music’.
She confirmed her breakup on March 10th, Thursday in an interview with The Sun newspaper and said that dealing with heartache publicly was difficult. She also announced that once her world tour Delirium comes to an end in October, 2016, she will be going on a hiatus for revamping her personal life. She said that she wasn’t working on a new album and had no idea when she would release anything. Fans began to worry after her comments as they feared she was walking away from the music industry completely.
But, Ellie took to Twitter to assure her fans that she was taking a well-deserved vacation and would be back soon. She said that she had come too far to back out now and she just needed some time off.
