The Indian musical sensation tied knot with her long-time boyfriend Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya on 7th February, 2015 in Mumbai. The couple has been in love for the period that last as long as ten years and they finally decided to live their life together in love. The wedding was planned to hold in a private ceremony and not many people were invited to be the part of the happiness.
The singer revealed about the happy news about her personal life on Twitter on the next day of her wedding. Shreya wrote that she got married to the love of her life last night and was very happy. The songster seemed very glad and nervous on the beginning of her new life.
Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya is a tech capitalist. Both of the couple belongs to different family backgrounds. They became friends when Shreya Ghosal moved to Mumbai several years ago. According to her friends they took four years when they realized that they love each other and want to be in the relationship.
The couple decided to get married only at the start of the New Year. The marriage was kept under wraps because both Shreya and Shiladitya are very private people so just ten days before the wedding the singer phoned her friends asking them to chunk the day for the wedding. Prior to that the singer never openly introduced Shiladitya as her fiancé and always said that he is her close friend.
Almost a week before of her wedding, she tweeted her fans writing that she is going to step into a new part of her life and feeling really nervous. She said she just didn’t feel herself able to get the idea if she was super nervous or super excited. Shreya wrote that she had never felt like the way she was feeling at the moment and whatever she was up to she would certainly let her fans know soon. Shreya also asked her fans to pray for her new life and said that she needed best wishes. This comparatively unusual tweet gave her fans some idea that she might be talking about her wedding but since nothing was confirmed so they waited for the right time to come.
The wedding ceremony was surrounded by the families and close friends. Lots of even her close friends didn’t know about the relationship that the singer was in with the groom for last ten years.
The wedding was as special as the singer herself is. Some of her close sources said that it was a complete Bengali wedding and the singer fasted till the ritual at 10.30 pm. She was wearing a red sari while the groom wore dhoti-panjabi. The wedding had all the Bengali customs like gaye holud, subho drishti and mala bodol. The music composers Shantanu Moitra, Jeet Gannguli and Joy Sarkar were the only three persons as the guests from the music world who attended the ceremony aside from family members and some of their close friends.
